About me:

Hello, my name is Brian Young, and I am thrilled to express my interest in serving as your next Mayor of Jamestown. I am married to Shannon Young, and we are proud parents of one son, Christian.

Some of you may recognize Shannon as your child’s health care provider or perhaps you’ve seen her jogging along the roads at all hours of the morning. She is an avid runner with several marathons under her belt, and I am incredibly proud to call her my wife.

Our son, Christian, works at Wilson’s Hardware in Jamestown, where he dedicates himself to assisting customers with their needs for supplies and home essentials. If you have ever had any home repairs or projects and visited Wilson’s, you have likely encountered him at some point.

We are members of Jamestown Christian Church. We actively participate in various church activities, including praise team and praise team production for our live streaming program for those who cannot attend in person. We are deeply grateful for our membership and cherish our church family.

Now, about me: I relocated to Russell County several years ago to embark on a career at South Ky Recc. For several years, I served as the lead lineman, and later, I transitioned to the engineering department, where I remained until I decided to pursue a new career path. Currently, I have the privilege of working for the Woodland Farms Foundation and the Adams family, who have generously invested in our city, community, and the well-being of our children.

I decided to run for this office because I want to contribute to something greater and better than anyone could ever imagine. I want to be a leader who actively listens to the needs and concerns of our community and then seek out the most effective solutions to address these issues responsibly. As elected officials, it is our duty to listen before we speak, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

I look forward to meeting each and every voter in the city and discussing any and all issues or concerns that you may have.
